65 Dollar Giveaway

This is the first of 3 giveaways for the next 3 months. A hearty thank you to the folks at CNSstore.com for sponsoring this giveaway worth 65 dollars redeemable at any of their 200 stores. You know when you are getting older and more responsible when you start to look at dining sets and furniture to turn your house into a home. I am came across their Bistro Sets which I think would really work in my indoor outdoor space at home. Not only do they have furniture but they have, kitchen tools ,shoes bags and luggage and even a baby and kids store along with many more stores. I never had a traditional wedding where I got gifts so I am always checking out cookware. If you are  a foodie like me go to www.cookware.com and check out this Crepe pan that has the wooden spreader for crêpe enthusiast like myself. I would love this pan since in our household we make crepes sometimes twice a month.

Competition Rules

Be alive and comment telling me what you have been eyeing on any of the CNS stores.

Do not be selfish and tell a friend about the competition so I will not have 5 ppl to do the competition with that would look really bad

Do this by Thursday the 23rd Sept 9 pm EST 2010.

I will make the drawing on the 24th and announce the winner of this

This competition is open to US residents, Canadian residents and Caribbean residents and Other countries (who have a skybox and understand how it works since CNS stores do not currently ship to the Caribbean)

Skybox: Is a service that gives you a US address so that you can make purchases and then they ship to you at your home address but there is a cost but if you are using these services you can enter.

I will select a random number using random.org and announce the winner on the 24th of September.

The winner has 4 days to e mail me at barbadianvegan at yahoo dot com and I will give you further instructions of how to claim your prize.

C’est tout!

Excuse number 189756 B

Remember I was saying how I was in the kitchen doing something to post…yeah well I was  not telling lies it is just that I had a family illness and I have been tied up for a long time. Finally I am free  so I will be in the kitchen testing away again and sharing some food and recipes again. I am having a hard time getting into blogging mode even if I bought new props and ingredients. Let me tell you a secret about blogging. There are some bloggers who make food for themselves and then photograph it as a daily thing( I wish I could do that) and they sometimes make an effort to make it look presentable and there are other bloggers who really like to do special food post when they blog and invest in doing that. I fall in the catergory of the latter and it kinda sucks because you want to be a perfectionist or something. Yes I make food every day but I am not motivated to shoot and to me it is not special enough to share with the masses. Anyways there is something special coming up as soon as my plantains and avocados ripen.

Caribbean Vegan

If you are like me I just want this book to hurry up and come out. I am guessing 3 weeks more and then it will be available for purchase on Amazon maybe a week or so later but I am crossing my fingers for  3 weeks and 4 days…

Remember to pre order so you can get it for less and since Christmas is around the corner I think this kind of book will make an excellent gift.

Sales were never my strong point  but now I actually have a product that I was a part of and I strongly believe in I have to step up my game right?

That is all for now.

Testers as soon as I get my authors copies you will get your books.

Other people there is at least 1 opportunity to win a signed copy of Caribbean Vegan coming up in a few weeks.

I want a little mini grill soooo bad! Specifically the George Foreman G5 because it has all the different plates, like a waffle attachment! I’ve been dreaming of grilled sandwiches…grilled veggie burgers….and waffles!

I’ll put a message on FB about your contest 🙂 Excited for the book!!!

Taymer, that book cover is beautiful, and I can’t wait to see the book in print! In terms of CNS products, I am eyeing a gorgeous KitchenAid mixer and some eco-friendly luggage so I can go to Barbados!

I would LOVE a new blender from there. Mine is really quite awful. Oh, and it leaks, which is especially fun when I’m making sticky concoctions.

I really need baking molds like these:

But an awesome skillet set wuld be nice too. Ive been using the IKEA one that is $2.99 and its all worn out. Id like to invest in a good one, but i also happen to be broke and planning a missionary trip to DR….That was not supposed to sound like a sob story..lol

I agree that the book cover looks awesome! How exciting that the release date is so close!

I can tell you exactly what my kitchen needs: a spice rack. I put the spices in the cupboards above the stove and I have so many that I not only don’t know where anything is but spice containers are always falling and hitting me on the head. I’m sure I could remedy the situation by placing the spices somewhere else, but that would require some effort and serious organization, lol.

Awesome giveaway! I’d definitely go with a new immersion blender since mine died last week and it miss it terribly 😦
But I think I’d throw in that crepe pan you mentioned, too. I’ve become addicted to them lately!

  10. September 16, 2010 12:42 am

Sooo excited about the cookbook, Taymer! It’s going to be amazing!! 🙂

Thanks for the awesome giveaway! I just blogged about it (gotta share the love). I shamelessly covet so many cookware items :/ but what I could really use is a good piece of cutlery; I’m eying the 8″ Global chef’s knife in particular. Any of the oval or round Frieling brotforms would also make me happy. And then there is that ever-elusive food dehydrator… I’ll stop now before I get carried away lol.

Where do I start…the ones that jumped out at me right away were (in no preferred order)

Paula Deen stoneware sunflower mold pan
    Mauviel M’Heritage paella pan (oval)
    Paula Deen cast iron griddle
    Pasta machine any would do
Versace red and white wine glasses as well as the amber londrink glasses
The 3d dinosaur cookie cutters (my son would love eating dinosaur cookies)
Sorrento mixing bowl either in ruby or wheat or just one of each
Le cruest 2 quart batter bowl and the quart pitcher both in the ‘Caribbean’ colour – really loved these as I could see them being used at a beach house:)

Cannot wait for the book’s release, will do my best to spread the word at the Taste of Barbados event in the UK:)

So glad that I found this resource. Looking forward to the book. I have tons of vegan cookbooks but I none written on Caribbean ingredients. Are you on Twitter?

  17. September 19, 2010 8:18 pm

I would stock up on some Rachael Ray cookware simply because I adore the vibrant colors!

I am in desperate need of a food processor. I have never had one or used one, but I just know it would make easy work of my veggies dips, salsas, pesto, hummus etc. I am probably the last person in the free world to own one. LOL

Thanks for the opportunity to enter my name.

I just now saw “The Caribbean Vegan” for the first time and am going to pre-order it as soon as I enter this contest. Does wanting a Vitamix count? Nah, I didn’t think so. I do need a new food processor but the kitchen deal I really, really want, and I don’t even know why is a donut pan. Baked donuts, heaven. OK so I do know why. Here’s hoping.

I have a severe cookware addiction… especially for any and all things cast iron and enamel coated! A grill pan or a griddle would be nice, or a indoor grill, or a new wok (the non-stick stuff on mine is chipping off and freaking me out).
